GeoLinks partnered with ALERTCalifornia in 2017 to spearhead the installation of fire cameras across California. To date, GeoLinks is responsible for successfully installing and providing data connections to more than 200 fire cameras. The multi-hazard camera technology provides data related to fire ignition points critical in informing situational awareness and wildfire response.

“The fire cameras are installed on our vertical solar and wind-powered assets where data is collected then transmitted via our ClearFiber™ network to ALERTCalifornia’s private research and educational network reaching universities, fire officials, utilities, and other users,” explained Ryan Adams, COO and President of GeoLinks. “This allows firefighters to confirm ignition locations, verify 911 reports by imaging fire behavior, and deploy informed responses, public warnings, and evacuation plans. These cameras also fill a crucial role of possibly identifying areas that may be under threat of future wildfire events.”

“Our entire team is passionate about delivering the most advanced technology in wildfire response,” adds GeoLinks’ CEO and Co-Founder Skyler Ditchfield. “Projects like this represent just the tip of the iceberg of what all can and could be achieved on the GeoLinks network across the state.”

GeoLinks is planning to upgrade its network by the end of 2023 in order to support the installation of 40 more cameras and to deliver even more accurate fire alert solutions to first responders across the state.
